Our Services
- Private day nursery providing care for children aged 12 months, to 12 years of age.
- A pack-away setting located in the heart of Pencoed, inside Pencoed Miners & Welfare Hall.
- Services include full time, part time day care, creche sessions and flexibility for both adhoc and shift work bookings.
- We also operate a breakfast and after school club within the setting.
- We offer wrap around services from all local schools, parents can get in touch to enquire prices for these wraparound services.
- Registered Flying Start setting and provide funded spaces for two year olds.
- We offer midday sessions of 9am-3pm at a discounted daily rate.
- Accept tax free childcare and funding through Childcare for Wales
- Open 52 weeks a year (excluding weekends and bank holidays)
- Opening hours 7:30am-6pm.

We would love to invite you into the setting to come and view the nursery for a show around. We offer two, free of charge, 2 hour settling in sessions before starting.
Fees
These fees are inclusive of nappies, wipes, ointments, food and cows milk. Our fees are reviewed annually every March. Please see below fees for 2025;

Meet the Manager
Hi, I am Millie-Rae, the Nursery Manager at Selca Day Nursery – Pencoed.
I embarked on my Selca Day Nursery journey at our Llanharan site starting as a Nursery Nurse and gradually advancing within my role. I have worked as the designated ALNCO for our settings, Team Leader and now I lead our Pencoed site as the Nursery Manager.
I have always had a genuine passion for children and seeing them thrive in their development. I have a lot of love, time and warmth for my job. Working with children is something that I have ALWAYS wanted to do, and have done so for many years now. I hold a CCPLD Level 3 in Childcare, I am qualified to Level 3 in Play Work and recently finished my Level 4 in Leadership and Management. I am always looking for more ways to expand my knowledge and am eager to start my next course. I am friendly and bubbly, and always willing to help in any way.
We here at Pencoed, have recently celebrated our second anniversary since opening in 2022, along with our successful CIW inspection that we are proud to share with you all! I lead such a fantastic team of girls here at Pencoed and could not do it without the warmth and smiles they bring to the setting everyday. I believe developing relationships with families is absolutely key to creating the best opportunities for children and makes for a safe, home-from-home feeling.
